Share Our Educational Resources
Help more people understand guide dogs and the rights, responsibilities, and experiences of guide dog teams. PTGDU offers free information for families and friends, pet owners, healthcare providers, businesses, educators, transportation providers, and community organizations.
You can share a resource online, provide printed materials to a local school or organization, include a link in a newsletter, or use our materials to begin a conversation in your own community.
Support Safer Street Crossings
Every Crossing Counts is PTGDU’s public safety awareness campaign encouraging drivers and cyclists to recognize pedestrians using white canes and guide dogs—and to know how to respond safely.
Free flyers, brochures, handouts, and other campaign materials are available for individuals and organizations to download, print, personalize, and share wherever they live.

Volunteers support PTGDU in many different ways, including writing and editing, graphic design, website assistance, research, outreach, photography, fundraising, event planning, and sharing information through community and professional networks.
Some opportunities can be completed remotely, so you do not need to live in Maine to contribute. If you have a skill, interest, or idea that could support our work, we would be glad to hear from you.

Raise a Guide Dog Puppy
Volunteer puppy raisers provide future guide dogs with a loving home, basic obedience, good house manners, socialization, and experience in a variety of environments. Puppy raising opportunities are available through guide dog organizations in many parts of the country.

Invite a Conversation
PTGDU members may be available to speak with schools, businesses, civic groups, and other organizations about guide dogs, access, safety, and life as a guide dog handler. In-person opportunities depend on location and member availability, and virtual presentations may also be possible.
Make a Gift
Contributions of any size help PTGDU develop and share educational resources, support advocacy and outreach, and offer programs that connect and inform the guide dog community. Pine Tree Guide Dog Users is a nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
CLYNK Your Cans for PTGDU
Turn bottles and cans into support for PTGDU through the CLYNK Bottle Redemption Program in Maine, New York, and Connecticut. Log in at CLYNK.com, select Donations, and search for Pine Tree Guide Dog Users. Our supporters have already recycled enough containers to fill more than a dozen lobster traps!
Community groups can also organize a CLYNK bottle drive for PTGDU using specially tagged bags.
